Map Overview of the Blackstaff Tower Main Tower Floor 2
I am releasing a new free virtual tabletop and printable map of the Free Battle Map: Blackstaff Tower Main Tower Floor 2 in the Forgotten Realms.
Map Location Numbering
As part of the Free Battle Map: Blackstaff Tower Main Tower Floor 2 map download files, there is a Dungeon Master’s (DM) map with numbers on it that correspond to the building and room descriptions below:
- Main Tower: this is the main tower where residences, laboratories, and other rooms exist. The inside is bigger on the inside.
- Parlor: Guests of the town and residents use this room to socialize and eat smaller meals.
- Guest Dining: guests can use this room for eating if they want a little more privacy.
- Guest Room Hall: a hall that connects the guest rooms to the dining room and parlor. There is additional storage in the wardrobes if needed.
- Guest Room 1: A larger guest room for those guests that need a bigger bed or a bed to share.
- Guest Room 2: single guest room for guests that aren’t staying too long or doesn’t plan to stay in their room much.
- Guest Room 3: A larger guest room for those guests that need a bigger bed or a bed to share.
- Guest Room 4: a guest room for those staying longer term and wanting an area to write.
- Guest Room 5: a guest room for those staying longer term and wanting an area to write.
- Extradimensional Storage: portal to an Extradimensional storage area. The door to access this room is a secret door requiring a magical passphrase. Most of the storage in here is additional books that the tower staff can change out with books in the library.
- Library: the tower’s main research library. Most books are magical works or about exotic locations and planes.
Map Options
Each map of the Free Battle Map: Blackstaff Tower Main Tower Floor 2 is 20 X 20 squares and without lighting because most VTTs support adding lighting to a map. I create several versions of each map based on if it is a city or terrain map. I create summer and winter versions of city maps and grass, sand, snow, and forest versions for terrain maps where it makes sense.
I have created several map variant combinations from the original maps and grouped them into 7zip files for download below. I first group the download links by file extension; currently, I export maps into the WEBP and PDF file formats. I then group the WEBP downloads by the audience (dungeon master or players), grid type (with and without), and color contrast/brightness (original and high contrast). I group the PDF downloads using the WEBP groups and these other PDF groups and page size (Letter for US and A4 for EU) and border (small 0.25-inch border or no border).

Below are the various 7zip files for download. Each file contains either image or PDF map files. You will need 7zip to extract the images or PDFs.
